Taco Soup

Aunt Alice Christensen

1 lb. ground beef or diced chicken
1 medium onion
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
4 oz. green chiles
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can corn (fill a used can with frozen corn to measure)
2 cans diced tomatoes
1/2 c. salsa

Brown meat and sauté onions. Add seasonings, beans, chiles, salsa, corn, and tomatoes. Pour 2 c. water/broth to soup (or two cans full).  Simmer 20 min or on low in crock pot for several hours.

Serve w/ tortillas chips, grated cheese, sour cream, avocado, and sliced black olives.
